The team is interested in innovative materials, which may contain by-products, industrial co-products or waste. The team studies their behavior, their sustainability and their environmental impact. This approach is part of a value chain logic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lgcge.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/imagecontenuer2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"309\" height=\"314\" class=\"wp-image-517 aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The recovery of mineral matter from by-products, industrial co-products or waste is an increasingly strong necessity in our society. One of the major challenges is to develop the economic and application potential with a view to exploiting the enormous quantities produced annually. Materials dedicated to construction and health have great potential for evolution through specific applications leading to the use of more efficient and innovative materials. The team gradually widened its field of expertise from the mechanics of granular media to physical chemistry to reach environmental and ecotoxicological aspects. This last aspect constitutes a strong link with the geo-environmental field. The originality of the work carried out is based on an experimental approach starting from laboratory tests and ending with pilot demonstrators at scale 1 which is supplemented by numerical simulation. The work carried out within the ER2 team focuses on the following aspects :\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The development of<strong>eco-materials with multi-physical performance<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>(physico-mechanical, thermal and acoustic) by combining the problems of<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>valuing industrial and \/ or agricultural co-products while limiting the environmental footprint of these products and achieving life cycle analysis (LCA).<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>tout en limitant l\u2019empreinte environnementale de ces produits et en r\u00e9alisant une analyse de cycle de vie (ACV).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The<strong>development of innovative cements<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>with controlled performance in order to improve existing products while reducing their impact on the environment (CO2 emissions, gray energy, etc.).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Understanding the interactions between materials and living organisms. The research of the \u201cArtois Biomaterials team\u201d relates to the application of mechanical engineering to biomaterials and more particularly to the application of new technologies, such as<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>LASER<\/strong>,<strong>rapid prototyping<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>digital tools<\/strong>, to the realization and optimization of surgical implants or surgical procedures. Among the themes developed, can be cited :\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>the application of rapid prototyping using surgical diagnosis in traumathology,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>the study of hybrid biomaterials and the development of personalized bone anatomical forms,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>flow modeling in a bioceramic with interconnected spherical pores with application to bioreactors,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>the study of applications to implants of macroporous cellulose,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>the design, modeling and production of a thermal bio-probe for application in the field of thermotherapy,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>the optimization of surgical implants or surgical procedures,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>the design of condylar boxes of articulators by scanning and rapid prototyping of the cranial base with comparative study on patients and application to the production of dental prostheses in biomaterials.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nTheme leader: P.
