Elles peuvent alors \u00eatre amen\u00e9es \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 de nouveaux usages pour ces sols, en ad\u00e9quation avec leurs contraintes et engagements budg\u00e9taires, environnementaux et soci\u00e9taux. Les lois et les outils de financement r\u00e9cents les incitent \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger, restaurer et utiliser les sols de mani\u00e8re durable et \u00e0 r\u00e9habiliter les sols pollu\u00e9s pour d\u2019autres usages, comme par exemple des espaces de nature en ville.<br>Encore peu utilis\u00e9es, les techniques de r\u00e9habilitation \u00e9cologique bas\u00e9es sur l\u2019utilisation d\u2019esp\u00e8ces v\u00e9g\u00e9tales permettent de g\u00e9rer les terres pollu\u00e9es <em>in situ<\/em>, pour pr\u00e9server la ressource sol et apporter d\u2019autres b\u00e9n\u00e9fices en lien avec la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un couvert v\u00e9g\u00e9tal et les fonctions du sol. De nombreuses esp\u00e8ces peuvent se d\u00e9velopper sur des sols pollu\u00e9s et contribuer aux objectifs de nature en ville. Emergente sur le march\u00e9 de la d\u00e9pollution et de la gestion des sites et sols pollu\u00e9s (SSP), l\u2019utilisation de couverts v\u00e9g\u00e9taux en lieu et place des techniques conventionnelles (excavation, confinement) poss\u00e8de des b\u00e9n\u00e9fices et d\u2019\u00e9ventuels effets n\u00e9gatifs. Les uns et les autres ne sont que peu document\u00e9s, faute de retours d\u2019exp\u00e9riences et d\u2019initiatives de terrain.<br>Par l\u2019application d\u2019outils permettant de caract\u00e9riser la fonctionnalit\u00e9 des sols pollu\u00e9s, l\u2019objectif de la th\u00e8se propos\u00e9e sera d\u2019\u00e9valuer, en termes de gains \u00e9cologiques, la gestion mise en \u0153uvre sur plusieurs sites urbains pollu\u00e9s, en allant au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019approche chimique classiquement d\u00e9roul\u00e9e dans la m\u00e9thodologie nationale SSP. Divers param\u00e8tres physico-chimiques et biologiques aideront \u00e0 caract\u00e9riser la qualit\u00e9 et la fonctionnalit\u00e9 du sol en relation avec plusieurs couverts v\u00e9g\u00e9taux, ainsi que la qualit\u00e9 et la sant\u00e9 de ces derniers. <strong>Mots cl\u00e9s&nbsp;;
